Aerosoft NavDataPro Charts!

Aerosoft have been developing a new product internally which is going to be direct competition to Navigraph Charts it’s going to be called NavDataPro Charts!

In a post on the Aerosoft forum; Mathijs Kok Community Manager for Aerosoft wrote “One of the products we are working on internally is NavDataPro charts. This product will, like NavDataPro does for navigation data, offers access to the charts delivered by Lufthansa’s Data Systems. Of course there will be applications for many platforms but we can show you the iOS application here.”

NavDataPro Charts iOS features

  • Search filter and display all LIDO Airport Charts (by ICAO/IATA/AIRPORT NAME/CITY/COUNTRY)
  • Search and display all LIDO Enroute Charts including Overview
  • Interactive map, that display included airports with METAR information and other information like elevation and runway lenght
  • VATSIM ATC display on the interactive map, you can see the current online VATSIM Network ATCs including there frequency and more information
  • Favorite mode, add any airport to your favorite and have quick access to these, including display there charts, airport information and METAR datas
  • Kneeboard mode, add unlimited charts for your next flight into the stack view and browse them without switching the menu, draw/annotate with a simple fingerprint
  • Chart Display View include, preview of other charts from the current airport with fast chart switching, Quick “Add to Kneeboard” button
  • ChartAirServer to display the Chart you currently view on your iOS Device on your (via Wifi connected) Computer by simply open it in the browser
  • Contact the support right from the application once you run into problems

Mathijs went on to add “It will indeed be a subscription model just like with our NavDataPro application. The coverage is not 100% fixed because this is the same set of charts as LIDO sells to it’s professional customers and when they change destination the chart set is also changed. Before anybody asks, this is 100% the same chartset as Navigraph offers. We license it under the same conditions, we just have slightly different ideas. Just as with the NavData we felt it was very important for our hobby to have two sources, in case one source fails for some reason you will have an alternative. And as our NavDataPro is selling pretty good we found it important to also offer the charts.”

Earlier today Fabian Boulegue posted a video preview of it in action on the iPad:
