FSFX Packages Q4 Update!

FSFX Packages have grown in popularity over the last year, starting with their immensely popular PrecipitFX they followed that with the PMDG 777 and have included new products to their Immersion product line! They released their Q4 Update and read it in full below!

Hi everyone!

Another quarter, another update!

Prepar3D v3
This came a bit as a surprise, but we knew it was coming. Our effects are working on it and we have already updated our PrecipitFX and 777 Immersion Install Utilities to support the new platform. You can update your current installation via your Install Utility or download the latest version from the website.

Our only unsupported product right now is A320 Family Immersion. We will be releasing the updated Install Utility once Aerosoft releases it’s official P3D v3 Installers.

We had a lot of request for this software and about it’s future availability. For now, the only thing we can say is that TimeKeeper is a back-burner project that isn’t ready for prime-time just yet. We will let you all know when it’s ready to be tested. Our time is much better spent on 737 Immersion right now. For more info on TimeKeeper, see the blog post

737 Immersion
For the past few months, we have been working on a set of internal tools to allow us to develop a new generation of effects that is more optimized and more visually appealing than before. Having those tools shortens our development cycles resulting in new Immersion packages for a wider variety of aircraft much on a tighter schedule.

Last August, we released a preview of the new volumetric rain in 737 Immersion. If you have missed it, here it is:

And today, we are releasing another preview featuring the new volumetric lighting. In this video, you will see more FPS friendly, real looking, more consistent light beams. A huge improvement over our previous iteration of these effects. A frequent request by cockpit flyers was to be able to clearly see the volumetric lighting from the Virtual Cockpit. We can now confirm that you will be able to see those lights like never before in FSX or Prepar3D with 737 Immersion.

Q400 Immersion
Nothing new to say on this one apart from the fact that we will rebuild all the effects using our new set of internal tools. If all goes to plan, this will be the project released after the 737. That would be, if no secret project slips into the schedule.

We believe this makes for a good roundup of what we have been working on and what we are looking up to in the future. FSFX Packages is bound to make the best effects packages and this is why your input is important. Don’t hesitate to send us an email as we are glad to read your ideas and comments. Be sure to check this page and ourFacebook page regularly as we will keep you up to date with the latest news.

Have a great day,
The FSFX Packages team
