HiFi Simulations Releases Active Sky XP!

HiFi Simulations has today released their highly anticipated weather engine add-on, Active Sky, for X-Plane!

This is the company’s first venture into the world of X-Plane, they have until now, exclusively developed products for Microsoft ESP based platforms.

Using a hybrid weather depiction interface through X-Plane 11’s weather API, a realistic, high-performance and high-fidelity weather experience has been realised.

The product is feature rich and includes Active Sky’s famous ‘Active Air’ technology which “replaces internal X-Plane turbulence and air effects, providing enhanced turbulence, drafts, thermals, terrain-based wind effects, surface friction, gusts, variability, wake turbulence, microbursts and more.”

They also acknowledge the product’s limitations as its not a complete visual replacement for X-Plane’s weather depictions yet, this is set to come in Q4 of 2019.

Active Sky XP is available from SimMarket and FSPS for around £38.72, the product only supports 64bit versions of X-Plane.
