We’ve been rather busy this weekend so you may have noticed we missed news coming from MilViz!
On Friday they announced the development of another aircraft, this time it’s the ATR-72. The ATR 72 is a twin-engine turboprop short-haul regional airliner manufactured by the French-Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR. It was developed as a stretched variant of the ATR 42, and entered service in 1989.
It has been typically employed as a regional airliner, although other roles have been performed by the type such as corporate transport, cargo aircraft, and maritime patrol aircraft. Successive models of the ATR 72 have been introduced; a single aircraft can seat up to 78 passengers in a single-class configuration.
The announcement received a mixed response from the community with many people pleased to see the ATR getting attention from developers, however, some raised concern about that fact that MilViz take on a lot of aircraft and that they have fears that it might not get finished, MilViz addressed these concerns with a response stating: “We have released the T-50 and are close to releasing the Beaver… What’s not to like?”
In a post to Facebook, MilViz wrote: “First look at the ATR… yes… it’s being done. (KA is STILL being coded… as are the others!)”
We’ll be following the developments of MilViz very closely, for more information click here
